Well, I guess the title says it all. I keep forgetting daily how we are actually in the midst of a pandemic, still sitting in my kitchen working on my laptop, not seeing anyone, not doing anything and only getting dressed up (makeup - the whole lot) to go to the local Lidl. Same old, same old - we've been doing it for a year now. Question is during this time of quiet, stillness, stuck with ourselves and a lot of extra thinking time on our hands, what can we do to work on us? We have to depend on us a lot at the moment, what can we do to help us be there for us during these trying times?
Build Resilience.

We have heard this word thrown around a fair bit and I guess it is now becoming a marketers dream to somehow use this or show this creatively to sell there product. But what does it actually mean and more so, what can we do to get more of it?!
Firstly, we need to think of accepting the change around us.
We don't WANT the pandemic to be happening, but sorry it is. This can be hard, but resisting against it, complaining, breaking the rules and fighting it, isn't going to achieve much, accept maybe a fine, more stress, anxiety and anger. None of these are good coping mechanisms and none of these are going to build our resilience or give us good health.
Next, self discovery can be a really great way to build resilience.
As we're stuck inside, alone a lot of the time, for many more hours in the day, we might as well look at figuring ourselves out. We can do this by reading a self help book, learning a new hobby we always thought about doing, joining a course (they can be a free one or otherwise, there's SO MANY). This is building our strength and confidence in ourselves which in turn allows us to trust ourselves better.
Lastly, take care of yourself.
During this time, where stress can be high, demands can be even higher and time can be spent just trying to get through the day - STOP, sit down and find something that relaxes you. You can take five minutes in the day to do whatever it is that works for you. Taking care of yourself and your mind will help build inner strength, allowing you to be better prepared for whatever life throws at you.
